Work Package 4 structure

Task 4.1: Coordination and efficient exploitation of the project

The structure we choose to deal with such a wide range of activities and expertise and the related complexity is a “coordination group” led by the coordinator and composed by three WP leaders TECHNOFI, PoliTO and CESI RICERCA, and a support group composed by the coordination group and all task and second-level WP leaders.

Sub-Task 4.1.1: Project coordination

The coordination group will mainly:
  • support the coordinator in verifying that the implementation of the project work plan fulfils the contract established with the European Commission;
  • collect information in order to allow the verification of compliance with the expected;
  • scientific goals of the project and of the effective attainment of project milestones;
  • identify crucial relationships among work packages and tasks, also as a refinement of the ones already envisaged in the project work plan;
  • ensure coherence in the activities of the work packages and tasks and organize information exchanges for an integrated execution of all work packages and tasks;
  • review and assess the development and implementation of interactions among work packages, including, concretely, physical flows of inputs and outputs in compliance with the provisions of the project work-plan;
  • analyse any problem which could arise during the execution of the activities and find efficient solutions to overcome it, in order to meet the project objectives.

Sub-Task 4.1.2: Preparation of periodic reports on REALISEGRID activities and of the final REALISEGRID report

The coordination group, will prepare the Activity Report at the end of reporting period 1. At the end of the project the coordination group will prepare the final report of the project.

Task 4.2: Consultation of stakeholders and dissemination

Task 4.2 organises consultations with the stakeholders in order to guarantee that all our analyses and results are consistent with the real world issues of political, infrastructure and network decision makers. It also organises , the communication of the project results to the public. At the end of the project the coordination group will prepare the final report of the project.

Sub-Task 4.2.1: Organisation of two dissemination workshops about Work Package 1 activities

These workshops will be open to the transmission system operator community and to
manufacturers. The first workshop deals with the results of Year 1 of WP1. The second workshop deals with the results of Year 2, in order to validate the road map report.

Sub-Task 4.2.2: Organisation of a dissemination workshop about Work Package 2 activities

The workshop will present the results of WP2: the forecasted electricity and gas cross border exchanges among EU Member States and the expected development of generation capacity over a long term horizon.

Sub-Task 4.2.3: Organisation of a dissemination workshop about Work Package 3 activities

The workshop will present the criteria, findings, inputs and tools obtained by WP3, being opened to network decision makers, transmission system operators and regulatory bodies, in order to share and agree the criteria, tools and inputs derived within Work Package 3 activities and to validate the results of  Work Package 3.

Sub-Task 4.2.4: Realisation of the project intranet and internet website

The REALISEGRID website, to be maintained by CESI-RI, acts at two levels:

  • as an Intranet service. The intranet service is mainly devoted to access to project information; circulate preparatory and internal work (both scientific and administrative); exchange of information on scientific issues covered by the project.
  • to disseminate information on the REALISEGRID project and results (broad information on the activity; presentation of both activities and results; useful documentation, links and references. Furthermore, all proceedings of the workshops and conference).
Sub-Task 4.2.5: Organisation of the final conference
The final conference will present the results of the REALISEGRID project, being open to network decision makers, transmission system operators and regulatory bodies, in order to present and discuss the findings of the project.

Sub-Task 4.2.6: Relationships with the  transmission system operator’s world and external dissemination activities

The presence of transmission system operators TenneT, VERBUND-APG, TERNA and RTE-I guarantees a sound level of information on relevant results and findings of ongoing activities in the “world” of TSOs and their associations (UCTE, ETSO or related bodies: Eurelectric,CIGRE. This flow of information is necessary to ensure that all REALISEGRID analyses and results are consistent with the real world issues of infrastructure and network decision makers. TenneT, with the contribution of TERNA, RTE-I and all project partners, will identify the relevant events to which REALISEGRID activities can be presented. Partners will be encouraged and assisted in the presentation of the project and its preliminary and final results, both during and after the end of the project. Participation to such events and results to be presented is previously agreed within the Consortium and the EC financial contribution to the project is properly acknowledged. At the end of the project, TenneT with the contribution of TUDelft and all project partners will prepare a report, which summarizes the dissemination activities of the REALISEGRID project including summaries of REALISEGRID publications/presentations in external conferences and events.
